Nigerian elections 2007

 During the April camps there has been a palpable tension in the communities due to the local and national elections. Our workers have been intimidated and questions over election probity have fuelled rioting and multiple killings in nearby Warri and Port Harcourt. The last camp was reported as tense and volatile by our team, even in remote riverine communities.

These difficulties have not prevented the regular camps from proceeding but hampered a fact finding trip scheduled for May across some partnering NGO centres in the Delta and to the North of the country.
